christmas in a french chateau

Just imagine ....

It is Christmas Eve, and you have finished packing and decorating
your chateau ready for the next few days of celebrations .....

The rooms are sparkling in silver and white

champagne is poured

 the kitchen is spotless

the silver is polished and the crystal gleaming

fires are lit, and christmas trees watch over promising gifts

and outside the door you have set up a beautiful display to welcome your guests ...

now ... there are six places laid at your table so tell me,
just who is it that you've invited to such a wonderful evening?

  2. I feel much better about my chateau, Sharon, now that you have described it thus. Would you have any idea where those wonderful lightshades in the kitchen image come from, by any chance? They are so exactly what I need.

  4. On Christmas Eve only the closest members of the family are gathering in our house("chateau") that means 10 adults an almost 3 years old grandson and a baby girl as granddaughter and the head of the family is our father celebrating his 92th birthday that day.
Wish wonderful preparations you all until the very Evening. Dorka from the Great Hungarian Plain www.dorottyaudvar.co.hu

  7. Beautifully decorated Chateau. I would invite friends and family and anyone who didn't have a place to spend Christmas at. :) Although, I don't think I could pull anything like this off! Ha

  8. A beautiful chateau like that would need to be full of laughter & music, so the most important people would be be All my family & then my closest friends. What a wonderful time we would all have.

  9. Gorgeous, Sharon. That chateau is indeed a dream. Especially the kitchen. I would like to see it filled with my dear friends and wonderful family, such hanging around in a casual moment as the night before Christmas slips away, enjoying each other and the season. Thanks for a beautiful moment. XO

  12. Oh everything is beautiful! We always host a Christmas Eve dinner after Mass. We include our closest friends and some who do not have family nearby. There is always plenty of simply prepared food and good conversation. I don't think I would change a thing. Bonnie

  15. That chateau is incredibly gorgeous. How I would love to be invited for such a dinner party. I would invite my family but we would need many more chairs. Love the creamy greige blends. So utterly elegant yet warm and inviting!

  21. Sharon, it's not going to be a hard decision at all whom to invite for an intimate Christmas dinner party. To this lovely setting, I'll invite my best friend and her husband, and my husband's best friend and his wife.
