a beautiful morning in our normandy valley

Stunning is the word that came to mind early this morning; the valley was shrouded in a light mist that augured well for a fine day ahead, a real treat at the end of October.

Shot up to the field early to feed the horses and the dogs had to agree with me that it was just lovely to be out and about enjoying that very special light at the beginning of the day.

Of course Gibson and Ghetto always come up with me, and tear around at breakneck speed .

No prizes for guessing which one comes back first when I call them to go home  ....

Couldn't resist asking them to pose in the sunshine this morning,
but it was asking a lot ... especially of little Ghetto ...

"This is so-o-o tedious, she wants us to sit down again for another picture ... life is just too short for this sort of rubbish..."

"At least let's use the time to see what else is going on.  You look that way and I'll look my side..."

"So what did you see your side?"

"OK, we've sat here long enough, don't say anything, just creep past her, she won't even notice ..."

.... sigh ....

Love it when the village is emerging from the mist like this;

the same mist that highlights every detail on our path

hope you have a sunny moment to enjoy today, thank you for reading me.

  18. The flip flops of the season, your day is looking to be a great one for out of door activities, and here at somewhere near the Rockies, we have snow. Gorgeous scenery for viewing from indoor with a cup of tea. And according to the weatherman, the temp will be back up to the 70s in a couple of days.

I love foggy mornings like the one you're having today. The slow opening up of the day as the sun peeks through. Reminds me of, when I used to live in San Francisco, one of my favorite city.

Hugs to my cyber friends, Gibson and Ghetto! Always lovely to see them. Enjoy the wonderful weather in your neck of the woods!

  39. I'm again reminded of the beautiful place you call home. Wonderful photos capturing dawn of day. What a peaceful and healthy environment for all living things.

My husband always says he wants to come back in his next life as a dog. Wake, go outside, greet the morning, eat, sleep, check on your humans, maybe get in some bonding time with them including a nice pat on the head; sniff around in the air outside again, get in a good howl with the wind or a stretch your jaws with some solid barking; come in for more snoozing and additional bites to eat; chew on a toy; play and scuffle with Doggie #2. Snuggle down for the night with a nice blanket.

    It's a dog's life!

  41. I don't comment often, but I relish the emails that arrive in my inbox. They always and without fail offer some calm in a hectic and trying day. I can literally feel the stress dropping away as I take a moment to share your thoughts, pictures and words. Thank you, it means a lot to me getting this wonderful view into your gorgeous world. xx

  42. I want to live where you do! I'd learn French and spend my days pretending I was in a chocolate flake commercial from the UK in the 1970s. They always seemed to involve soft lighting, fields, hammocks, and a girl in a hippy dress eating chocolate beside a hammock. I so wanted to be that lady!

  45. Our mornings here in New Hampshire have been misty & foggy especially on the river and have rewarded me with some amazing photos of Autumn. Gibson & Ghetto are such "hams", lol, wish I was there feeding them treats! Normandy reminded me so much of home while we were visiting, truly a beautiful area of France.
