Picasso once famously said, "when you don't have red [paint] use blue!", and those words sprang to mind today, as I picked up this pretty sauce boat that I found last week in a fair, and set out to make a matching blue and bouquet ... of course in this season I don't have blue and white, so I used ... red and orange!
Here we have dahlias, an apricot rose, old fashioned marigolds and annual poppies, very cottage garden, very simple but guaranteed to catch the eye!

I always love your bouquets, Sharon and this is so gorgeous--I especially love the touch of the "Rabbit's Ears" (not being botanically inclined I don't know their proper name) that are perfectly placed for rubbing between finger and thumb. :)
ReplyDeleteAs for bright bouquets, my honey gave me the hugest, as in armful size, bouquet of blue and yellow flowers for my birthday last weekend--he said that he was inspired by Van Gogh!
Bon weekend,
Heather
WOW - what an abundance of fabulous colour! You are so lucky (and clever) with your cuttings garden Sharon - I really must promise myself to organise my Autumn planting this year, so that I have flowers for bouquets throughout the Summer! I usually do very well in the spring time (I ADORE my blue and whites!) and then it tapers out in August. What's your secret - yours are always so beautiful whatever the season!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,

ReplyDeleteDefinitely caught my eye. This is a gorgeous arrangement!
ReplyDeleteI love all the different types of lowers you fit into one pot. Most people are lazy and wouldn't put the effect you did to put all the flowers in one glass pot.
