staying in the south of france - le prè de l'aube

If you plan on visiting the South of France I  have found a wonderful new address for you to stay at.  Just look at this!!    About one hour from Avignon,  Le Pre de l'Aube has just opened its doors and it is quite stunning.  Built around a 17th century farm, there are five spacious guest rooms and two separate little houses that could easily host a family.

The interior has been designed and styled by the gifted owners Pascal and Philippe.  They also have an interiors store, called Une Maison de Village,  in the nearby town of Grignan.

I adore the character of their home, because that is what it feels like, a real home, rather than any other guest house!     They tell me that the renovation was a massive undertaking, they even had to re-route a road! hard to believe the whole renovation was completed in under a year!

What is more Philippe and Pascal take very good care of their guests, nothing is too much trouble, and you can sense their pleasure in sharing this new creation.

If you are in the pretty town of Grignan, you can find their store Une maison de Village here , and if you would like to stay at the Prè de l'Aube, then just call them or drop them an email.    Don't hang around though, I have a feeling this is going to become one of the very good addresses in the South of France.

  2. What a wonderful address, Sharon. The Drome Provencal is one of my very favorite areas in Southern France--it is not nearly as crowded and still feels very authentic. I am sure guests at this beautiful property would have a fantastic, restful stay...

  16. I love the clean neutrals but how they also mixed it up with some color in what appears to be the main living room with the Persian rugs and purple/lavender-popped chairs which nearly rival the flower fields of the vicinity!

  18. Grignan is a beautiful village in Drome provencale where the lavender fields are in bloom in June-July. Un spectacle merveilleux et une senteur envoutante pour les sens.
Grignan has an other exquisite hotel and restaurant called "Le clair de la plume".
