Although I love to put together big fluffy flower arrangements, sometimes the blooms are just so perfect that they prefer to be alone.
Among my rather large collection of vases, pitchers and flower bowls, I have a couple of quirky, odd shaped holders, that seem to work well when I want to showcase a small posy of perfect blooms like these.
All that is here are four Pierre de Ronsard roses and a small posy of wild sweet pea (the sort that grows very easily, but unfortunately has no perfume - it's always the way , you just can't have it all!)
I just love the way the light catches on the petals, and the contrasting shapes and shades of pink.
I hope you bring a little pink inside today! :)

You always have beautiful flowers (and photos). We are so dry here at the moment (cornbelt USA) our garden is struggling - it is not a good time for flowers. The only bright spot of pink in our garden is the crepe myrtle.

Wow! I can't help but covet these lovely flowers. I, also, have very little blooming here in the MS Delta(USA) but crepe myrtles, and maybe a daylily here and there! These are truly breathtaking! Thanks again for sharing the beauty that surrounds you! Have a wonderful weekend!

ReplyDeleteMy garden is in that "in-between" stage right now - spring flowers are done, lilies have bloomed and the late summer blossoms aren't ready. It's a sea of green out there - which hasn't stopped me from making a hosta-leaf bouquet in the past!
A perfectly gorgeous bouquet. Simplicity can be just as beautiful as full and abundant. To me, the vase is just the perfect vessel for the beautiful roses and sweet peas.

ReplyDeleteOh, sweet peas...I remember growing up beside a wealth of wild sweet peas on the hillsides near my home, free to anyone with a hankering for them. Yours look like a cluster of country maidens peeping admiringly at the ball dresses of the roses. Sweet is the right word for them.
