my favourite french blogs

bord de scene

 bonjour mes amis!

A little international blog love today as I highlight some of the French blogs I love to visit.  Not the blogs written by people like me who simply live in France or who just love all things French.

No today I bring you a bouquet of French blogs, written in France by French men and women - Made In France for real.

esprit boheme

Each of these beautiful blogs shows great pictures, and creativity.  They enjoy food, homes, and the beauty around them.

A couple of these girls like Mo by Maurice live close by here and I know them personally, in fact many of you who have come to visit me will remember Christelle of Bord De Scene.  Esprit Bohème is not so far from here.  Others are farther south like Manon 21 and Esprit Champêtre and of course Un Coeur en Provence who edits the E-Mag Deco that you may already be famililar with .  The one boy who writes the very poetic blog Gris-Bleu,  is based in Paris.

Each and every one deserves a visit and a big

bonjour!

  2. Oh, thanks so much, Sharon (I know....I seem to be typing that to you on a thrice-weekly basis lately).

I was just thinking (really....only about three minutes ago, this morning)that there have to be some interesting blogs/sites I haven't run across...and how could I find them?

So, off I go to peruse these new suggestions of yours.

And just for the record? Herve's French parents (as though he had an extra-set of American ones?), having seen pictures of this old house and the property, telephoned last night to announce that they're coming to stay for three weeks in September. I'm predictably delighted, since I enjoy both of their tiny selves very much. Herve's a bit sour on the idea....but, then, they're HIS parents.

I expect his and my roles would be reversed if my parents suddenly announced they were coming for a three week stay.

Fortunately, one of this 220 year old house's enromous advantages is that, sometime around 1990, it was very expensively and completely renovated by a couple who ran it as a luxury bed&breakfast. Hence, it has all sorts of amenities (such as a full bathroom for every bedroom) that render a 3-week visit from anyone much less daunting.

Off I go to these new French sites....

    Level Best as Ever,

P.S. Gong through the sales records (and having talked to at least two overly-chatty new neighbors) I've figured out that the B&B folks poured about 300,00 dollars into renovations and still sold the place, ten years later, for 250,000 dollars less than they paid for it. OUCH!....just goes to show the perils of willy-nilly opening restaurants or B&B's under the assumption that "This will be EASY....."
