roses and tarnished silver

I'm a simple girl at heart.

I don't long for that much ....

a posy of perfect roses ...

a few lazy sage leaves ...

an old and tarnished silver bowl ...

soft lighting on a window sill

a little pink, a little cream, a touch of yellow ....

doesn't sound like much to ask !

what do you think?  are you easy to please too?

  2. Such a lovely arrangement of roses. I too take joy in the most simple of things. A beautiful bouquet always does it for me too. I grow roses as well and always enjoy cutting them to be brought inside. I particularly liked your use of the Sage in your arrangement, it gives the arrangement a nice texture and I think using the tarnished silver piece was brilliant. Just lovely, a work of art.

  4. Hello Sharon

The tarnished container sets the stage and then your arrangement of roses to be followed by the highlight of sage makes it spectacular.
    Have a glorious week

  15. We must think alike...camera in hand on sunday, I shot my favorite roses arranged in small glasses. Seeing your beautiful images, I will file mine instead, or perhaps they will find their way in a book to come... We grow the same variety of roses, i just love these full, gorgeous roses, and bring them to my nightstands, entry, library. The best part of summer is taking care of all my roses. Happy summer!

  22. Another gorgeous arrangement! I'm a simple girl at heart too. It's the little things that bring about the most pleasure to me. Flowers, a good book to read, my first cup of coffee of the day, old buttons, and a smile on a child's face bring happiness to me. :)

  38. I too have the same roses, and they bloomed so early this year. I ended up cutting all the lavender and putting it in my silver bowls to dry. Your Roses are very beautiful and I cannot go to sleep at night without reading your blog. Very peaceful! Someday I will get to your beautiful part of the world. Martha
