Spring has sprung all over the place here and there is love in the air.
I have a couple of blackbirds building a nest in the wisteria outside my dining room window, and as they fly back and forth, tirelessly adding to the construction I can almost hear them saying "honey, do you think this twig looks good here, or would it be better by the door?"
Romance in our guest cottage too; we have a young student couple staying who are just the sweetest pair you have ever met. Good looking, polite, bright and ... in love.
They only had room for one book in their tightly packed backpack, so they are reading it together - and do you know how? ... they take turns reading out loud to each other each evening after supper...... SIGH
Their romance was only surpassed by a young local farmer who farms a large field that rises over the road leading into the village. When his girlfriend drove into town for an appointment , he jumped onto his tractor and headed off, a determined look on his face.
As she drove back home, and rounded the corner to bring her into the valley her foot slammed onto the brakes. On the hill ahead, in letters 10 meters high, there were words ploughed into the ground
Her boyfriend's blue tractor was heading down the hill towards her, his smile as broad as his message ... I hear that wedding bells will be ringing in June.
Even Gibson is lovesick since our blacksmith turned up on Friday with a young lady covered in spots...

Dear Sharon, What a lovely post to read this morning... just a day or two before Spring officially begins. The photograph of Gibson and his new girl is the most charming and beautiful, ever.
ReplyDeleteYou will be the very first person I tell my news to because no one I know will know I told...my oldest daughter and her ex-husband of two years are back together!!! Love is grand and I cannot wait to shout this news...it's just too good to keep quiet....but there are people to tell (explain to) that will be shocked. I have been praying for this day for 2 years...see how your words can inspire?
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful story of the blue tractor! - it is a pleasing conceit that the crops of that hill will forever be exalted by growing from such a bold declaration of love.
ReplyDeleteThank you for putting a smile on my face this morning!
ReplyDeleteDelightful, delightful. Thanks for reminding us that love is all around. What a wonderful way to start the week! XO
ReplyDeleteOur lives are defined by our stories. While my stories aren't quite so romantic or picturesque, these are truly uplifting and inspirational.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, uplifting post. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI just love all that you write, and a Spring romance, remember when, oh to be young again ! Look at Gibson, he is loving all that attention from the spotted one, hehe !
ReplyDeleteThis is such a wonderful post and has me smiling! I love what that young man did with his tractor. Gibson looks so dang happy with his new friend. Dylan dog is feeling spring fever himself...love it!

Oh la la! L'amour - l'amour...! Adorable!!!!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about the rosemary, it will come back, hopefully. Your bay leave - I'll keep my hope up for you. Normandy is normally not really the right climate for it but if it is placed/planted sheltered, facing south, it should survive - by luck. Mine is fine now after cutting the dried leaves and branches off.
Thank you very much for your mail mention the German students....!
Best wishes for a lovely and sunny spring week,
karin
Is that the best or what? I loved Gibson's new girlfriend and the field of crocus(?)...don't you just love spring?

ReplyDeleteOhhh die foto van die honden, prachtig, ze hebben ook de lentekriebels!!!! Gr. Jac...........
ReplyDeleteYea, the idea of the young farmer was definitely better/more charming, than a huuuge grass-grown word in one hillside outside towards the east of Melbourne, Australia: "bloody hill". ;-)
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Gerlinde
PS: can understand Gibson; quite a cutie indeed !!! ;-) :-)
