French vintage cushions

AT LAST!!!   DONE!!  Remember how many weeks ago I was telling you that everytime I tried to make my cushions I got waylaid playing with the pretty fabrics.

Not so today.   I can at last show you the new cushions I have made, some for my home and some to go into the store.  There are more to come but today, the first day of spring, I show you the pretty flowery set.

All the cushions are hand made by moi ... I used only vintage French fabrics, including some antique  linen sheet fabric, some antique unused dishcloth fabric and the really pretty, nicely shabby vintage cotton prints, that are so much more charming than new.

The cushions are made to different sizes, but all fit around standard pillow sizes so clients will be able to find the fillers easily.

Hope you like them, I'd love to hear your comments.

With a bit of luck (tomorrow or Wednesday)  I shall be able to show you the dog beds I have also made from vintage ticking and grain sacks.

A demain mes amis, thank you for reading me!

  23. These are fabulous! In fact, I love everything about your blog I've been reading for some months now. Your way of feeling France is very close to mine and it's a real balsam for my soul (I'm not sure this is correct English, but it's a literal translation from Slovenian and it's really what I feel!). Especially in the evening when I take some time for myself and read the posts of the selection of the blogs I chose. It calms me down and prepares for the night. It is true that sometimes it makes me daydreaming and I can't rally fall asleep. But this is OK too. Not just OK, daydreaming is great! Hope one day I will be able to come around and visit all those beautiful brocante shops and marches aux puces... In the meantime, I will continue to enjoy the energy that is reflecting from your blog... All the best from Slovenia!

  36. I love this post! I spent time in France many years ago and miss it so much. I loved the way that they use red and white a lot instead of blue and white. Red is so cheering in winter, and perfect for summer. Your cushions have inspired me, I have some old linen tea towels which would look wonderful as cushions.
