snowy sunday

Images of fresh snow, excited dogs, worried daffodils, snow arrived in the night and is promised to continue falling until Tuesday.  As usual, Normandy is hopelessly under equipped to deal with even a few inches of snow, so my children are delighted at the prospect of a day off school, huddled down at home,  keeping the fire going.

Friends over for lunch today, cakes in the oven already, guinea fowl on the menu, the first day of being snowed in is always fun!

Hope you are enjoying a good weekend, à demain

  3. Lovely pictures! Isn't amazing how our animals who are not too familiar with snow react on the first snow each winter. No snow over here so far but temps down to 12°C in the morning - my old heeler loves it!

  17. What a gorgeous photo. Sharon, a question.
I'm always reading that French women stay slim, by not eating desserts, etc. Yet, on all of the "French" blogs I read, everyone is always making desserts?
So, am very curious as to what really happens when the cake comes to the table?

  18. Isn't it wonderful!!!!!?????!!!!

Gibson has gotten so big. I guess it's inevitable.

Macha and Charlotte were absolutely thrilled. First reaction on the doorstep was , "No, it's not true." Second reaction, "Let's goooooo."

  31. Well here in canada we have no snow and it is spring like in temperature. Grass is green and we have had hardly any snow at all. I am not complaining but the weather sure is weird.

  32. I like the way you said that it's fun being snowed in on the "first" day. It can get old quickly. But there is something magical about snow falling.

Here we are in Canada with temps around 10 degrees. Crazy weather. Our youngest daughter is in Rome with 6 inches of snow.

    Stay cozy.

  39. As my darling Mum would say 'Picture Perfect Postcard' images Sharon. It's Summer here but you wouldn't know it. Had to fire up the electric blanket for a few minutes last night to take the icicles off the sheets. I'm desperate for our traditional week of 7 + days over 110F to round the Season off sensibly! Enjoy your day of being tucked up at home.
