This Monday it was two years ago that I published my very first blog post.
If you write a blog you'll remember that emotion, finger hovering above the publish button, then finally you hit it and ... then you wonder what the fuss was all about because nobody knows your blog exists anyway so it really didn't matter if it was a well written post or not!
I digress...
Two years on Monday, and by a happy coincidence, you, my wonderful readers, gave me the best anniversary gift, because Monday I received an all time record number of visits for my little blog.
So today I have to say
THANK YOU MERCI BEAUCOUP THANK YOU MERCI BEAUCOUP THANK YOU MERCI BEAUCOUP THANK YOU MERCI BEAUCOUP
thank you for reading me, for showing interest in what I have to say, for encouraging me to continue writing and showing you pictures from my corner of Normandy. Writing a blog is a life changing experience that connects you with people all over the world in the most unexpected manner. Which is where I also have to thank my husband and children for their encouragement and patient acceptance of my intrusive camera!
You have made me laugh, you have even made me cry! I love reading your mails that share such big moments in your lives; I love reading your comments even if I don't have time to reply to all; I love the unexpected 'secondary effects' of a blog: the new friendships; the new awareness of a worldwide community.
And to every single person who stopped by on my 2nd anniversary, a very special thank you for making the day so amazing. For as long as people are kind enough to come by to see me, I shall be inspired to share more beautiful French houses, favourite French recipes, to chat about my brocante finds and to indulge in some girly and family talk too.
Talking of which ....
don't forget to check out MFCH tomorrow, I have a fantastic giveaway for you!
Bonne journée mes amis!

Do you remember that email you sent me so long ago dear Sharon? Before you started blogging, when MFCH was just a tiny seed in your mind? I still have that email & I stll remember how thrilled I was when you sent me the link to your first post. I have delighted in watching you embrace this wonderful medium with such panache & have loved seeing your fans find you & oooh & aaah. Congratulations to one of my most precious bloggie chums, long may you continue to give your huge contingent of fans a glimpse into the beauty & meaning of your French life.

Happy blog anniversary. It is us that should be thanking you Sharon. Wow - two years. I wish I had discovered you sooner. I so enjoy visiting and feeling a little more French when I leave.
ReplyDeleteSam
I follow your blog for some time, but never posted a comment because my English but even so my French isn't that well and I didn't dare to comment anything on your blog... But now I read that you are having a blog anniversary, so I wanted to congratulate you anyway...bad English or not! But I love your blog a lot and the pictures are beautiful and sometimes even more then that! The landscape, the flowers or plants, the houses, the beautiful things you find, everything is always lovely and with a lot of love turned into pictures. Thank you for that! And I am sorry if my English isn't that well written.
ReplyDeleteBut keep on blogging and enjoying the country around you! Lots of greetings from Holland, Joyce Glim.
Congrats Sharon on 2 wonderful years. You obviously have legions of fans and with good reason. I love coming to your blog to hear what you have to say and of course for your "Calgon take me away" images which they always do...truly its a tiny slice of heaven. I agree with all you said about blogging and the connections and friendships you make, sharing triumphs, and disappointments with others is part of the package, and makes and keeps it real.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is a gift so thank YOU!
MERCI BEAUCOUP to YOU my dear friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU have enriched my life beyond measure, you have inspired me to begin a new chapter in my life, you have encouraged and shared a beautiful life with us that no one knew could have existed!!!!!! MERCI BEAUCOUP TO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A milestone indeed! Congratulations Sharon, you do a very nice job and I enjoy your blog every morning.
ReplyDeleteI happily discovered you blog this year, and enjoy it so much. Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteJoyeux anniversaire, Sharon. I am a French woman living abroad. It is always interesting for me to see how other expats "survive" in my homeland. I have not found many blogs I enjoy reading as much as yours. You have successfully created a life in la Belle France (and Normandy, a favorite region of mine.) I understand why your beautiful blog, creativity and flawless writing inspire other women who are interested in my country and may aspire to visit or even live there. You have also turned this picky French reader into a fan. That is quite an achievement. Félicitations! Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your blog anniversary. It's always a lovely place for me to visit.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you'll be blogging for many more years.

Congratulations on two years!! Whoo-hoo!! -- laughing at your comment about agonizing over the first post and then ... you don't even have followers at that point so it doesn't matter. I completely identify with that!
ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic, Sharon!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and many more!
Sharon, I am so proud to know you! And, I completely agree with all your thoughts about blogging. My friends/family simply did not understand WHY I started this adventure, now they are true believers. And, they all know how much satisfaction I derive from my virtual world. I cherish each & every one of my blog friends X10! And, all of my BIO participants especially. Sending love...and a big HUGE congratulations, my friend.
ReplyDeleteThank YOU, Sharon! I just discovered you a few months ago and you are in my top 3! I am also considering starting a blog, wondering why anyone would read it, etc. but your post here is great encouragement. If I do it at all, it will be just for the joy of writing at first. First step will be buying, and practicing with, a better camera. Wish me luck!
