preparing for the fair

Now if you lived around the corner, or maybe in the next village, we would probably have spoken or met up this week, and I would have said "come and see all the goodies I'm getting ready to take to the fair in England!!"

So, since - as far as I know! - none of my readers live that close, I thought I'd just show you.  This part of preparing for the fair is time-consuming but fun.  Taking stock of purchases, imagining how I'll put them together on the stand ... imagining how I'll get them into the car more to the point !!

I think they'll be grouped together by theme, but I'd be grateful of your ideas for my stand.  Shall I lay up a table, create a makeshift reading room?  I'll be making up a bed with the linens, but I'll show you all about that tomorrow.

Here's some of the stuff, tomorrow I have a bed reveal and more china.
Thank you for your ideas

And don't forget, any of you great bloggers  who come along to the stand
at the Finchcocks Garden and Jazz Fair on Sunday or Monday,
will be welcomed on my stand with a glass of wine

Merci !!!

  2. Oh my, I wish I did live close enough to come. I love the idea of vignettes set up with items according to their usage - like a table setting. A reading corner would be fun, too. Thanks for letting us in on the plans.

How are you transporting it all? I can't imagine!

Wish I was close enough to go...

  4. OH! I so wish I could be at least in the same continent! you've got so many lovely things in this first fair post. Unbelievable. How are you going to get all that in a car?
I imagine there will be lots of flowers or fruits in the baskets.
    It'll be a huge success!

  5. EVERYthing looks just delightful, from the crystals to the trunks. Have a great time and I hope you sell it all so you don't have to drag it home!

  9. I am lame at ideas but you might want to check out Brooke Gianetti's current post at Velvet & Linen. Good Luck with the transport--it will be worth it! You are going to have a fantastic time and tons of success, I just know it. :)

  10. Its a good job I'm off to Cornwall and not Kent! I would have had to make hubby and the kids go home on the train - I could buy your entire stall!

  12. Oh Sharon.. the packing of the car like a great puzzle is half of the fun! Always remember to maximize your space by putting things inside of one another! On the way back it is so much easier, unless you do some shopping yourself like I seem to do. But you know that already!

    Have fun!
