my wisteria

Timid for the moment, the wisteria is showing up early this year.  Just love the perfume wafting in through bedroom windows.  Such an exotic looking plant for our humble Normandy.

  1. To be honest I'm just a little bit envious of you and your beautiful wisteria. Flowering so early - goodness gracious - I think we will have to wait prolly 2 or 3 weeks then...

  7. I am dying to plant one at this house. I love them and want to put it by the entrance. Every time I get the urge the Rose bush that is there blooms feverishly trying to stake it's claim. Soon!

    See you soon!

  9. The wisteria suit your home so perfectly. I'd keep my windows open if I had wisteria outside but I live in NYC and I would not want pigeons as houseguests!

I was just in Corsica last week working and I could not believe how fragrant the wisteria were on the island. Everytime I would see the flowers away up on the road I would roll down my windows as I passed to have the fragrance sweep
    thru my little Hertz rental.

  14. Dearest Sharon,

Wisterias make such a romantic framing to any window or pergola whatsoever! As long as you can restrain them enough for becoming too invasive! Enjoy them.

    Lots of love,

  15. Oh my goodness, your wisteria is gorgeous. I have small areas of wisteria but nothing as gorgeous as yours. Very beautiful! It really is such a romantic and vintage plant and always seems like poetry when I see it blooming.

  16. the chicago region of america is hostile to wisteria which i adore.

your post sharon reminds me of a time a client in virginia was taking me from the airport to her home. everywhere we went was wisteria in full bloom, it took my breath away.

my ahhhh moment was broken when the client said "forget about that, it is a weed here'
