fancy French rooftops

While the Normans are not generally known for their natural exuberance and eccentricity, they are partial to a little roof decoration.  I took these shots in our closest small town.  Sometimes it pays to walk around with your nose in the air!

bon weekend!

  1. Those little rooftpos make the roofs and the houses indidual and non-interchangeable!

  5. The varying character of French rooftops is one thing that I remember from visiting there. These are beautiful photos. I love that you "walk around with your nose in the air" to notice these.

  6. On our trips, my hubbie walks around looking up ( and he's 6'4"); he finds shots that would not even occur to most of us.

You do live in a very special area!

I often gaze at them amazed by the beautiful architecture.

  8. Sort of the Maine of France in a way. Seems from your very nice photos that ornamentation is less important than the structural. But of course with much more panache than you would ever find in Portland, Maine...
