the first time this year I open my bedroom curtains to
see the magnolia beginning to flower
the first big brocante fair of the season;
the first time I get up at such a ridiculous hour to
go to a brocante fair - that will teach me to
choose a Sunday when we put the clocks back!
(yes, we started off buying with lamps in our hands!)
and the first brocante where I spend half the time looking up to admire the architecture, instead of

and the first brocante where I spend half the time looking up to admire the architecture, instead of
down to check out the goods
and finally the first time this year I get to show
off my foire à tout finds!
12 place bottle carrier
never ever washed or used dishcloths
a pretty boxed set of 6 LG monogrammed, silver plate spoons
and of course, my favourite, so difficult to
walk past beauties likes these

Great finds Sharon....you deserve a long nap after a delicious lunch....xv
ReplyDeleteI wish I could have been there with you!

I Love your finds! Special the towels! I'm portuguese so natural towels and embroidery bed linen are my favorites "home stuff"

I have to stop looking at your posts...my husband is getting annoyed with nagging that I just have to go back to France, like its an emergency! Seriously, if I got to go to brocante fairs like the one pictured above..I might never go to sleep...I would be so excited. Love all the goodies you pictured, why does it all look so much better there? :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, poppin in to say hi and let you know how much I've been enjoying your posts. There's no lovelier towel than one that's linen w/red stripes ~ swoon:) Congrats on a great faire.

Thanks for sharing your great finds. Love the silver spoons and embroidery. Are the pieces with red stripes towels or grain sacks? Either way, I really like the crisp look of the red and white. Have a great Sunday.
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful finds! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteDear Sharon, Happy Sunday morning. A question please. What do you do with your Daffodil patch after it blooms? I have a similar patch in the middle of a large grassy area. We leave it to "age" for next years' blooms but it does look very unsightly by the middle of July.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, I'm looking forward to my first 3am wake up call to be in line at a show. Somehow you never mind it being that early when it involves shopping for something you love. Great finds and I hope you had fun!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your finds and wonderful architecture. Now time for a well deserved nap. Happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so civilized compared to ours.
ReplyDeleteLove your finds and I admire your discipline to get up so early... I'm much too lazy.
Happy Sunday my dear :)

Dreams are made of this...

It was worth it to get up so early. Great finds Sharon!
ReplyDeleteSharon,
ReplyDeleteSo fun! I am so excited... And the shopping location is one of the best I have ever seen!
Christina :)
Dearest Sharon,
ReplyDeleteLove your find of Christofle spoons!I got the sugar sifter in this antique pattern from around 1905; what a treasure. Your magnolia tree is gorgeous and indeed it must have been hard for the 'first' Sunday of Summertime... But you scored high.
Lots of love,
Mariette
How I wish I could have gone with you!
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful time of year for a brocante fair!
I'm green with envy! Your garden and beautiful finds are too gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHappy spring!
Seriously, I have no words (other than ones that sound completely envious). LOVE your linens and I am dying to walk through a brocante that has such amazing treasures! I am definitely visiting Normandy and Bretagne next time I am there!
ReplyDeleteThat architecture is beautiful! I love your finds. Those spoons are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteBonjour Sharon,
ReplyDeleteVous savez me dire quelle château c'est si vous plaît?
Merci
Jérôme
Magnolias are beautiful!!! They are my favourite early blooming spring trees. Your garden gives a lot of pleasure to see it!!!Daffoils are great, too!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful forthcoming week,
Virginia
Love your finds and so wish I could be there too.
ReplyDeleteYour "brocant-ing" is so inspirational. I need to get out in my own area and figure out the estate sales around here.
ReplyDeleteTREASURES! I would love some dishtowels like those red striped ones. My kitchen has been all Fire King Jadeite green until my mother gave me a bright red Le Creuset pot for Christmas. Well a pot like that deserves some decor to match! Now I'm searching out touches of red in the appropriate vintage shade...
ReplyDeleteLet me know if you place these towels in your shop!
I love your treasures! thanks for sharing these with us.
ReplyDeleteI am speechless...I love all of your treasures! Those linens are just amazing. Kudos to you!
