spring announced
This is not the happiest time of year in the garden. The harsh winter temperatures have left their mark, the heavy snow damaged some trees and bushes and when I look out my window I see more a list of things to do, than a view to delight in.
Thankfully the snowdrops have appeared to announce the arrival of spring, and remind me of the pleasure a well-tended garden can bring. The sort of encouragement I need to don gloves and coat and get myself moving!

The snowdrops outside look very pretty, Sharon! I love them cut in the vase as well. A sure sign of spring!

That's funny I call my snowdrops, snowbells (is this an Australian term?) Bells; as they announce SPRING!!!!! Yes:)!
ReplyDeleteThey look lovely!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely, snowdrops! I have yet to see a sign of spring except for two buds on my frost-bitten bougainvillea...they promise to survive the shocking freezes of Florida this winter.
ReplyDeleteWow, nice view. I didn't know they were called snow drops... how perfect!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a very good week my friend!!
Lots of Love,
Terri
Those snowdrops are charming. Last year, when we had just moved to Texas, people had the most amazing photos of bluebell flowers. Apparently there are fields and fields of wild bluebells. This photo reminds me that I MUST find them this spring. Have a wonderful Monday!
ReplyDeleteI would do anything to see a snowdrop right now!
ReplyDeleteGlorious view....

I love snowdrops but mine won't be showing up for a while. Did you just let them naturalize in your yard?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE February because of snowdrops, violets and my birthday....all good reasons to embrace this chilly month.
ReplyDeleteYour snowdrops look beautiful. I also love this time of year as all of the litle green shoots are poking through the earth and showing that Spring is just around the corner. XXXX
doesnt that gladden your heart!
ReplyDeleteSharon those are just beautiful...and I so wish I could have you send some to my frozen farm
ReplyDeleteIt looks so green where you are.
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting here looking out my window at the very pretty, big, fat, fluffy snow flakes gently falling. We're still in the dead of winter.
Having said that, I missed green. My snowdrops won't be up for at least another six to seven weeks, about the same time when we start to see the Robins return.
I am dreaming of that Chateau right now and it has snowdrops in the yard! Sadly, just a dream...under several feet of snow! Thank you for the reminder...that spring really will arrive...eventually!
ReplyDeletei love them. snow drops are so cheerful and pure. i remember stopping on the side of a road in france and going into a ditch to, ah, nevermind. anyway, there were millions of lily of valley in the ditch. it was surreal and wonderful.
ReplyDeleteDear Spring,
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by. Hope you'll stay longer and have a good time with us. The flowers, trees and children loves you!
These snowdrops are heavenly Sharon....Spring really is coming....xv
ReplyDeleteGorgeous snowdrops. We won't be seeing ours for probably another 2 months - we have to get rid of the several feet of snow first.
