celebrating giveaways - living by water

This weekend I have had the great good fortune to win the fantastic giveaway offered by Debra at Lifescapes. I am SO thrilled !!  (More on that soon!  much more!!)

So many people reacted warmly to this post on the view over the river in our valley, that I wanted to know more about your favourite water view.  So I have republished the post  and  I am inviting you to link up below with  your favourite shot and a quick word about it.

To celebrate my incredible good luck in winning Debra's giveaway, - and providing enough people join in this link up - I am inviting you to link up to this 'water view party ', telling us about your special watery spot, and how it fits into your "Lifescape".

Next weekend I'll select a winner by random counter, and then I'll  do a fun post about the winning blog, and the amazing story behind it.

------------------------------------

What is it about living by water, be it sea, ocean, river or pond, that adds such an interesting and attractive dimension?  I always thought it must be very special to live in a home with a view onto water.....
I took these pictures as I crossed the valley this morning to get some bread for breakfast.  Nothing extraordinary, no torrents or crashing waves, just a medium sized river weaving its way through a medium sized valley - but it does it for me!.

  4. "...as I crossed the valley this morning to get some bread for breakfast.."- Sharon those words alone are beautiful. We live across the road from a lovely lake- this time of the year we only seeing bits of sparkling water through the trees~ but lovely just the same. Still- to cross the valley for some bread for breakfast...
I can almost smell the warm bread.

  5. Such a good thing for the "Soul" to be able to see bodies of water each day! Your photos and the area you live is just so refreshing.
I also have water 'everywhere'.. 2 miles west to the beach and 1 mile east to the bay, then my back yard sits on a creek!
Your 'going for bread'... where do you go? I only have the "Publix" (grocery store)close by...not a real bakery anywhere!
    Happy Sunday!

  6. What lovely images. I love seeing the water - I have been lucky enough to have water views wherever I have lived - not difficult in Hobart, Tasmania. You can tell a lot by a quick glance at the water :)

  10. Such beautiful images! I, too, live by a river. Our home is a 1970's fixer-uper, although no one seems to linger too much on that. The oven can be held together by a string and the wallpaper on the wall peeling, but when a guest comes over, they walk past that stuff and head directly to the view. Something does draw people to water!

  11. Water is instantly relaxing to me.
Just the sight, sound and smell of it.
You are so fortunate to be able to stroll alongside it on this late Spring morning.
    Happy Sunday to you!

  12. It's so true - there is something relaxing about the sea. I live near the Pacific - I can walk to the beach from my house - and I absolutely love just riding or walking along the ocean. There's something about just getting to see the water that speaks to me.

  16. I adore seeing the water ,no matter if it is country or coastal. Are you trying to encourage us all to move to your town with all these beautiful shots & only an hour to Paris ? I wonder if this would be a dream come true for me or is it just my fantasy ? Words for thought ........

  19. My husband and I live in a tiny house on beautiful Lake Washington in Seattle, WA. We have been here for two years and we never stop talking about the beauty of living on the lake. It doesn't matter what the weather is like - it is always beautiful. We are spoiled daily.

  26. I just found your blog through Aneyfordetail and I joined the party as well.
Your photos are so tranquille. Whenever I need to calm myself for whatever reason, I try to get to the water or at least imagine myself near the water. Right now, that favorite place is the first Calanque in Cassis, France. There's just something about the color of the water and it's contrast to the white rocks, the smell of the sea and the warm sun on my skin. Does the trick every time.
